Minatox69 – Infernal Twist (Official Video)
The experienced metal quintet Minatox69 marks its rebirth in the music scene, after the group’s healthy hiatus that took place in the last few years, with an uncompromising new single – “Infernal Twist”, off the band’s just recently released brand new EP – “Zero”! A chock full of monstrous riffs that both thrash and groove along with sinewy muscularity, alongside dynamic palatable and energetic vocal performance, which is responsible to further outlining the genuine aggressive and unrelenting nature of the song, “Infernal Twist” is one big, dynamic sonic explosion in the listener’s ears, without ever sounding unfocused or unstructured or becoming monotonous. Comprising prevalent thrash metal roots, with a noticeable hardcore punk side to them (but both ending with terrific, full-on metal finishes), Minatox69 has managed to inject a raw swagger back into its identifiable metal style by utilizing raw drumming and heavy pummelling assault of guitars to flow alongside that, ultimately generating a mixture of different elements coming together in one muscular, pissed off, swaggering beast of a brutal package that is completed by an absolutely and empathically underlined sense of implemented social angst, which can be used as an accurate resume and representation of the overall theme and atmosphere of the band’s comeback EP – “Zero” – as well!
Discussing the influence behind the “Infernal Twist”‘s creation and its intended meaning, Minatox69 collectively explains: “The song speaks about the inner conflict that every one of us experience on a daily basis, when it comes to dealing with society’s impositions, caused by the choices that we have made regarding our respective lives. We wanted to create a video, which represents and sums this whole process in an entertaining, fun way. That’s why we came up with a story line about a kid, who loves heavy music (representing us), sent by his mother to cut his hair (embodying the society), that goes to the barber shop, cycling with his headphones, enjoying music and realizing in the meantime that he wants to live his life in accordance with his own desires, as we wanted to visually express our belief that every person should stay true to themselves and not feeling obliged of meeting other people’s expectations and ideas.”
