ROCKSTADT EXTREME FEST STAYS IN BRASOV!
The new REF 2026 location, dates and full passes release
This is not a press release, but a statement to our community. Over the years, there have been numerous signs that the time might come when we would have to find a new home for the festival. During this time, we have managed to overcome all obstacles and keep the town of Rasnov, which is so close to our hearts, as the location for Rockstadt Extreme Fest. However, not in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that a festival for around 2000 people would grow into the mammoth event that it has become.
With an ever-growing number of visitors coming in their thousands from Romania and all corners of Europe and beyond, an increased production requirement for the 100 bands we host each year, the time has come to look for a new home. Regardless, Rockstadt Extreme Fest is a festival that was born in Brașov County and has its home here. Fortunately, fate has been kind to us and we have found a new home.
From now on, the Rockstadt Extreme Fest will take place in Ghimbav.
Ghimbav is located only 5 kilometers from the city of Brasov and only 10 kilometers from Rasnov and was first mentioned in a letter from King Sigismund of Hungary in 1420. It is an amazing place, located in a very strategic area that allows a festival of this size to fully unfold.
The new festival site will cover twice the size of the old space in Rasnov , which means that we will now have the opportunity to host larger productions and improve the festival as a whole, from the stages to the design, shades and all activities related to the event itself. Gone are the days when you couldn’t find a ticket for the campsite. Gone are the days of struggling to find suitable accommodation near the festival. Plus, the Ghimbav train station is literally right across the street.
Now, you may wonder about the festival dates. You read it right, Rockstadt Extreme Fest will take place between Jul 27-31st, that means from Monday to Friday. Although we skipped the weekend dates, these new dates will allow us to present the biggest lineup ever made in the history of this festival. And we are silently working on this for months, with many acts already confirmed. This move makes it easier for bands to actually bring their full production over, with a touring schedule that will be way more flexible in actually making the shows happen in this part of Europe, a situation that was always a challenge when it came to coordinating with other major European events taking place in the same week. So you can expect a more packed lineup than before. For now, please welcome Helloween and ACCEPT, two legendary names coming over with special anniversary shows!
Plus, with so many tourist spots around the area, we want your week in Romania to be a complete experience. So now you will also have the weekend available to either recharge your batteries or explore the wonderful tourist sites Transylvania has to offer. It’s a complete package indeed.
One thing that we need to emphasize is that Rockstadt will stay true to its values. A festival made by the fans and for the fans. The decision to move on in this direction was not made overnight. It was made to ensure that we can offer the best possible experience for our community, at the same time, tackling and finding solutions for all issues we have observed over the years.
With that being said, the love for our community is relentless. We move forward, together.

With the current fiscal measures that will be imposed by our government in order to reduce the national deficit, we are doing everything in our power to keep the tickets prices as humanly affordable as possible, while at the same time trying to cover all rising costs needed to produce a festival of this level. Your trust and support mean the world to us.
– 825 lei (162.5 EUR) + 9% VAT available until 30.07.2025
– 882 lei (174 EUR) + 19% VAT available ONLY at the festival site, starting 01.08
– 1050 lei (207 EUR) + 19% VAT available on our official site (FIRST TIER)
